The first sleeve variations for the tri centre differed from later releases in that either side of the RCA flash logo they had the wording RCA RECORDS LONDON S.W.9 the S.W.9 was omitted on the 60s pressings, Also worth noting is that the first pressing contained no printing date, this appeared on the sleeves from February 1958 onwards.

The cover for the RCA logo variations differentiated only in the fact that as mentioned above the S.W. 9 had been omitted. There were several sleeve pressings and we have shown a few above.

There are six known pressings for the RCA Victor Logo pressing which ran through 1963 to 1967. The cover did not differ apart from the pressing dates to the RCA Logo variation.

This sleeve variation, to the best of our knowledge only accompanied the very last Victor pressings with no tax code. It differed from all before in the fact that it had no pressing date and no S.W.9.

The final variation that was used for the orange label releases had no foldovers top and bottom, there was also no printers name or Made In England. It is worth noting that we have come across several of these with sub standard printing. where Elvis' lapel is not pure black, on close inspection you can also see the red rear cover coming through Elvis' hair.

Red's Price Guide

Jailhouse Rock was possibly one of Elvis' greatest films and this EP achieved great things too, it is stated in Elvis UK that this EP reached the top twenty in the charts, this at a time when EPs were at there most popular and still never entered the chart, Elvis managed that top twenty slot. amazing really! Due its popularity it has never been a high value collectable, that said though there are certain label variations of this EP that are incredibly hard to locate. Like the Z/T tax code RCA logo label.  As you can see from the price guide above finding a decent copy won't pay the mortgage.
